After an excavator (installing natural gas line) struck and damaged a client’s line approximately 14 times, then refused to compensate the damages, Dan Covington of Anderson & Byrd, tried the case in the District Court and prevailed. KGS and KCC name 14 new oil and gas fields in Kansas
August 3, 2007The Kansas Geological Society and the Kansas Corporation Commission have named 14 new oil and gas fields in Kansas, down about 40 percent from a year ago.
The new fields are:
Hazelton Townshite in Barber County; Winderly in Bourbon County, Panther Ranch in Chase County, Church View South in Edwards County, Hyacinty SW and Debra Ann in Ellis County, Hoss Lake in Meade County, Rap NW in Ness County, Garfield North in Pawnee County, Springvale Townsite in Pratt County, Lost Plum Creek in Rice County, Longhorn and Scott City East in Scott County and Kindig NW in Thomas County.

Covington wins negligence action
May 30, 2007Daniel D. Covington, represented the owner of a water pipeline which was contacted and damaged by a contractor approximately twenty times over an eleven-mile stretch of county road. After a full day of evidence and argument, the Court found the contractor negligent, and Dan’s clients were awarded judgment and damages for parts, labor, and water loss for all but two of the incidents.
